I might go in a different way now and put a window around the board on the FreeCell screen - just for something else to do. Also, I'm thinking the cards are a little wide. > > More keyboard shortcuts for the menus (Amiga-Q to quit, > Amiga-U to undo a move) or a horizontal dock are more > important to me (and easier to implement :-) ) I'm putting some extra keyboard shortcuts, but because of the RMBTrap I've got set so you can use both menus and RMB click on the card to see what it is, It's not really a good idea to use the RAmiga shortcuts, because they'll only work when the pointer is above the main deck of cards. -- Seeya Darryl Hartwig Buccan, QLD BTW, the Amiga is back for the future! Yes, I've added 'u', I'll put in backspace as well. -- Seeya Darryl Hartwig Buccan, QLD BTW, the Amiga is back for the future! How about an option to play game XXXX to XXXX, of course you can do it now by selecting the games you want...but... How many of you use the screen mode requester? Is everyone using a copy of their workbench screen? If so, I'm going to get rid of the screen mode requester. You can check for these yourself very simply. E.g. a IDCMP_VANILLAKEY, code="q" or "Q", qualifier&IEQUALIFIER_RCOMMAND<>0. No additional checks are necessary because Intuition will not send an IDCMP_VANILLAKEY if it detects a Amiga-... shortcut. For Undo, the qualifier check can even be left out. Keep it as Amiga-U in the menu though. You can't show keyboard shortcuts (except Amiga-... ones) well by putting them on the right of the menu text, padding with spaces, if there are submenus or if the font may be proportional. In AmigaOS 3.0 or higher you can put them on the right properly. -- Jilles Tjoelker * Author of Iris (mailer), Activity (activity meter), Craterlaan 6 * Select_Host (NapsaTerm frontend), Solitaire (WB game), 5632 AG Eindhoven * RexxBGUI (ARexx interface to BGUI), The Netherlands * Metronome (tool for musicians), etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From : Jilles Tjoelker Subject : Re: Changes! You added the screen mode requester in some version (it wasn't there in 1.0), so there was a reason for it. Is that reason suddenly gone now? -- Jilles Tjoelker * Author of Iris (mailer), Activity (activity meter), Craterlaan 6 * Select_Host (NapsaTerm frontend), Solitaire (WB game), 5632 AG Eindhoven * RexxBGUI (ARexx interface to BGUI), The Netherlands * Metronome (tool for musicians), etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From : Martin Coleman Subject : Re: ScreenModeRequester Date : 04 August 1999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hiya Darryl On 03-Aug-99, Darryl Hartwig wrote: > > How many of you use the screen mode requester? I tend to use the default screen, which I guess is a copy of the WB screen, thinking about it I've never changed it..... I dare say it may be useful for those with GFX cards though or special requirements.... I only put it there in case someone wanted to play on a different screen than a WB clone. Plus it allows me to test different screen resolutions - see what it looks like on someone else's machine. I'll probably be leaving it in. -- Seeya Darryl Hartwig Buccan, QLD BTW, the Amiga is back for the future! Good idea! I'll add this for the next version. Should be coming out rather soon now (I guess everyone's had enough of RSN) - BUT it will be coming out shortly (I think). I actually started working on a version that played from WB in a window, and got it working. The only real problem was the colours and the remapping of the cards. I've stopped working on it as it seemed that there were a few people on this list that didn't want it. It is a lot simpler to keep it on it's own screen - there would be those people out there who still have a screen only 2, 3 or 4 deep on their WB, and the colours wouldn't map properly at all, and there'd be no palette requester in the game. To make it an option would increase the size of the code enormously for such a little benefit. -- Seeya Darryl Hartwig Buccan, QLD BTW, the Amiga is back for the future!
