Short: GetLanguage v. 1.0 Author: zokie@tecserv.tec.it (Francesco De Napoli) Uploader: info cloanto com (Cloanto) Type: util/boot Architecture: m68k-amigaos GETLANGUAGE V. 1.0 Several Cloanto installation and launch scripts (included with commercial products such as Personal Paint, Personal Suite, The Kara Collection, etc.) check the LANGUAGE Amiga system environment variable to determine the best initial user interface or documentation language. If the variable is not assigned, English is used as the initial default language (other languages can always be selected manually). Unfortunately, this variable is not set in versions of the Amiga OS previous to 3.1. The GetLanguage program, which can be simply inserted in the startup-sequence or user-startup file, corrects this, by properly setting the LANGUAGE variable even on older systems. If the locale.library cannot be opened, then GetLanguage sets LANGUAGE to English, which is likely to be the only language available. The program is very short (1032 bytes) and completely public domain.
